• Clean the surface: Use a pressure washer to remove dirt, debris, mildew, and loose paint from the entire exterior of the house. 

• Inspect for damage: Check for cracks, holes, rotting wood, or other damage and repair them using appropriate materials like wood filler, caulk, or replacement wood pieces. 

• Scrape loose paint: Use a scraper to remove any peeling, chipping, or flaking paint from the surface. 

• Sand rough areas: Lightly sand rough spots to create a smooth surface for painting. 

• Caulk gaps and cracks: Apply caulk to seal any gaps or cracks around windows, doors, and trim. 

• Protect surfaces: Cover areas you don't want painted with drop cloths and masking tape. 

• Apply primer: Apply a coat of exterior primer to all surfaces, especially bare wood or metal, to ensure good paint adhesion.
